The recreational red snapper season in
Gulf state waters opens Saturday.
The red snapper season in state waters
will remain open for 52 days and close again on July the 15th.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife
Conservation Commission said opening the season the Saturday before
Memorial Day will allow red snapper fishing through an important holiday
weekend, helping attract more visitors and bringing economic benefits to
coastal communities.
The federal red snapper season will
begin on June the 1st and will be only 9 days long.
The daily bag limit for red snapper
will remain 2 per person in Gulf state and federal waters.
The minimum size limit is 16 inches
total length.
There is a zero daily bag and
possession limit for captain and crew of for-hire vessels.
