Tallahassee, FL –Florida Forest Service urge Floridians and
visitors to Florida’s State Forests to be extremely cautious due to severe
weather that has caused heavy rainfall and flooding.
“The Florida
Forest Service has the
responsibility to manage more than 1 million acres of public forest land,” said
James Karels, Florida Forest
Service State
Forester. “By assessing the impacts to the forests from recent weather
conditions and closing unsafe areas, we can reduce the risk to visitors. “
