Franklin County Commission meets tomorrow in Apalachicola

Franklin County Commissioners will meet the county’s new extension agent on Tuesday when the board meets in Apalachicola.

Franklin County has been without a full-time extension agent since last November when Bill Mahan was moved to Bay County after over 20 years at the local office.

Commissioners will also open bids tomorrow for the renovation of the old Highway Patrol Station east of Eastpoint.

The county is having it remodeled for use as an Eastpoint visitor’s center.

The county purchased the 1100 foot building and about 4 acres of land around it last year and agreed to spend 100 thousand dollars on renovations.

Other items on the County commission agenda include a bid opening for work on Lake Morality Road and to replace the air conditioner at the Franklin county Courthouse.

The full agenda is posted at oysterradio.com and on the Oyster Radio facebook page.

County commission meetings are open to the public – tomorrow’s meeting begins at 9 at the Franklin County Courthouse Annex in Apalachicola.
