Recreational fishing for greater amberjack and gray triggerfish closes this week

Recreational fishing for greater amberjack and gray triggerfish in Gulf of Mexico state waters will close this weekend.

The closure begins June 1^st – the recreational fishery will reopen on august the 1^st.

In federal waters, recreational fishing for greater amberjack is closed in June and July.

Gray triggerfish closed in Gulf federal waters on May 1st and won’t reopen until 2015.

Seasonal harvest closures help conserve Florida’s valuable greater amberjack and gray triggerfish populations and improve these fisheries for the future.
