Wild Mammal Association Photo Contest going on now

The Florida Wild mammal Association’s annual photo competition is going on now.

The Florida Wild Mammal Association is a wildlife rehabilitation center located in Crawfordville.

It has been taking in orphaned and injured wildlife since 1994, and takes in around 1,000 animals each year.

The non-profit group depends totally on grants and individual donations for its funding.

The nature photo contest has been held since 2008 – it raises money from entry fees as well as from subsequent sales of the photos donated.

Photo subjects can be local or anywhere in the world, and taken today or any day in the past.

The entry fee is $10 per category and up to three entries may be submitted per category.

Entries must be postmarked or dropped off no later than October 31st.

The complete contest instructions are on the FWMA Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Florida-Wild-Mammal-Association/281494464924?fref=ts; or on-line at fwma.org.

The overall winner will receive a framed Audubon wildlife print.

Category winners will be invited to visit the rehabilitation facility, with opportunities to photograph the wildlife in residence and in care. In addition, the category winners will receive an FWMA t-shirt and other donated prizes.
