Franklin County Commission will meet Tuesday in Apalachicola

Franklin County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Tuesday that could make it harder to park at Alligator Point.

There isn't a lot of public parking at Alligator Point and the right of ways do tend to get pretty full, so commissioners are now getting complaints of beach goers parking on dunes, vegetation, and even private property, including people's driveways.

County Commissioners will consider a parking ordinance for Alligator Point on Tuesday – so that sheriff’s deputies will have something to enforce if people are parking in unacceptable locations.

Commissioners have a few other items on Tuesday’s agenda that includes a presentation on the upcoming ballot initiative to change the School Superintendent from an elected to a hired position.

The Franklin county School Student Government Association will also attend the meeting to invite commissioners to the Seahawk homecoming later this month.

The full agenda is posted at oysterradio.com and on the Oyster Radio facebook page.

The county commission starts at 9 at the Franklin County Courthouse Annex in Apalachicola.

County commissioner will also meet Tuesday afternoon at 3 in executive session with the county attorney.
