Mexico Beach Fishing Report
October
October is the perfect time to experience great fishing, and everything is biting. Along the beach and pier, pompano and whiting are biting fresh shrimp and sand fleas. Flounder are eating bull minnows in the canal. The Gulf has huge redfish schools roaming the nearshore waters—if you see a flock of birds working over a small patch of water, chances are good there are several dozen huge redfish underneath. For the adventurous, these can be reached by kayak from the beach.
Mexico Beach offers some of the best sport fishing in the world. For a complete list of charter services, marina info, and reef coordinates visit mexicobeach.com.

Thoughts for the Month
October Is World Series Month!
It’s hard to win a World Series, but it’s harder losing one.
If the World Series runs until Election Day, the networks will run the first one-half inning and project the winner.
A hot dog at the ball park is better than a steak at the Ritz.
Every boy, in his heart, would rather steal second base than an automobile.
You gotta be a man to play baseball for a living, but you gotta have a lot of little boy in you, too.
Baseball is a game where a curve is an optical illusion, a screwball can be a pitch or a person, stealing is legal and you can spit anywhere you like except in the umpire’s eye or on the ball.
Baseball is the only place in life where a sacrifice is really appreciated.
The two most important things in life are good friends and a strong bullpen.
In baseball, you can’t sit on a lead and run a few plays into the line and just kill the clock. You’ve got to throw the ball over the plate and give the other man his chance.
It ain’t like football. You can’t make up no trick plays.
Baseball statistics are like a girl in a bikini. They show a lot, but not everything.
