County commissioners have agreed to
remove a number of abandoned boats near the Eastpoint pavilion.
Commissioners
said there are 3 or 4 boats there that need to be moved because the boats could
damage the pavilion or the docks if Franklin County is hit by a strong storm
this season.
The
board said they will try to contact the owners if they can they can find them,
in the hopes the owners will move them, but the boats in question are partially
sunk so they can’t be moved quickly if a storm heads our way.
The
county will likely just pull the boats to shore and then remove them with a
county bucket truck.
