District
1 Franklin County Commissioner Pinki Jackel will be Franklin County’s new Supervisor
of Elections.
Miss
Jackel was named to the post on Friday by Governor Rick Scott.
She
fills the vacancy left by Ida Elliot who retired early from office on June 30th
for health reasons.
Three
people applied with the governor’s office to fill the position including
Assistant elections Supervisor Heather Riley and former state representative
Will Kendrick.
Mrs. Jackel lives
on Saint George Island.
She has served as a
Franklin County Commissioner since 2008.
She has also been Chairman
of the Tourist Development Council since 2012.
Her term began August
21st, and ends January 3rd, 2017.
