Local unemployment fell slightly in July

Unemployment in Franklin County fell slightly in July.
Local unemployment dropped from 4.5 percent to 4.4 percent last month – giving Franklin County the third lowest unemployment rate out of Florida’s 67 counties.
Labor statistics released last week show 214 people were looking for work in Franklin County in July; 2 fewer than in June.
The workforce also increased by 56 people.
Gulf County unemployment remained at 5 percent between June and July.
321 people were looking for work in Gulf County last month.
Unemployment in Wakulla County remained flat at 4.8 percent, in Liberty county unemployment fell from 6.1 to 5.9 percent.
