Management Experts will continue to provide local disaster response training

Franklin County has approved a contract with a company called The Management Experts out of Tallahassee to provide disaster response training and exercises through the Franklin County emergency Management office.

Two companies bid on the project -The Management Experts has been overseeing the training to Franklin County for over 10 years.

Emergency Management Director Pam Brownell said she will begin working with the company on a training exercise immediately because the grant money to fund the program runs out in November.

She said she is not yet sure what the training exercise will focus on.

The training and exercise program is funded through a nearly 13 thousand dollar federal grant.

Mrs Brownell said this is the last of the training money.

The federal government is cutting out the training funding even though it will still require the training program to continue.
