I am deeply saddened by the loss of Deputy Sheriff Bill Myers, who served 26 years with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Myers lost his life on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, after he was fatally shot while serving a domestic violence injunction. My wife, Ann, and I send our sincerest condolences to Deputy Myers’ family and brothers and sisters in Florida’s law enforcement community.
In honor of Deputy Sheriff Bill Myers, I hereby direct the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at the County Courthouse of Okaloosa County, Florida, the City Hall of Shalimar, Florida, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office in Shalimar, Florida, and at all Okaloosa County Sheriff’s District Offices from sunrise to sunset on Monday, September 28, 2015.
