5 companies have bid on a county-wide
road paving project.
Commissioners opened bids on Tuesday for
the first county-wide road paving project in 7 years.
The bids ranged from about 1.8 million
dollars to over 2.4 million dollars.
The project will include about 7 miles of roads.
The road paving project will include
roads in every county commission district – each commissioner had about 420
thousand dollars in gas tax revenue to spend on paving.
The bids are currently being evaluated by
engineers with the Prebble Rish engineering firm – they will make a
recommendation at the county’s next meeting.
