Area 1642 will reopen to oyster harvesting at sunrise on Monday

            The Department of Agriculture will reopen area 1642 of the Apalachicola bay at sunrise Monday.

Area 1642 is the conditionally approved winter east bar – it includes Cat Point and East Hole.

The area was closed last week because of heavy rains that crossed the area last Sunday.

Water samples taken from the area show water quality is acceptable for harvesting.
