The
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission may hold its June meeting in
Apalachicola.
The FWC
has expressed an interest in meeting in Franklin County this summer.
This will be the fourth time the
FWC has come to town over the past 5 years.
At this point the Commission is
looking for a good meeting space.
In the past the group has met in
the courthouse and in the Apalachicola Community Center – but now they are
considering the Armory in Apalachicola which the county has been renovating for
use as a convention center.
Franklin County Commissioners
sent an official invitation to the FWC this week – urging them to meet in the
county.
FWC meetings are good for local
businesses because a lot of people from around the state attend the two day affairs
– and it’s a way to draw more attention to the plight of the Apalachicola Bay.
