See tomorrow's artists today at Project Impact exhibit

There will be an opening night reception this Saturday for the new art exhibit from the Project Impact Afterschool Program.
The exhibit is called “From Our Eyes, With Our Hands.”
Come out and see works from Franklin County’s youngest artists with over 30 pottery masks and bowls created by local students aged 5 to 17.
Pottery instructor, Kirby Gregory, has worked with the students for the past 4 months to create the collection.
The display will also include models of over 20 downtown Apalachicola buildings created using recycled materials.
The students have been incorporating their studies of found art into their projects and they will be discussing their “recycle town” with experts during a live videoconference with the Smithsonian Museum.
The reception will be held this Saturday night from 7 till 9 at the Center for History, Culture and Art on Water Street in Apalachicola.
Project Impact is a free after-school program in Apalachicola.
It provides homework help, tutoring, recreational activities, and field trips throughout the academic year with a full-time program in the summer.
