The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has reopened the roads that were closed within Box-R Wildlife Management Area (WMA).
On Jan. 5, FWC officials temporarily closed the following roads because of high water levels at the WMA: Sneads Hammock Road, Deep Slough Road, Buzzard Bay Road, West Boundary Road and the portion of Huckleberry Lane from the Box-R Cottage driveway north to the Jackson River.
Staff has determined that conditions are safe, so the roads are now reopened to vehicle access. If you have additional questions, contact the FWC’s Northwest Regional Office at 850-265-3676.
