Auditions
for Panhandle Players' first production of the season will be held Sundayand Monday evenings, August 28 and 29, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm, at the Chapman Auditorium, on Hwy 98 and 12th
Street, Apalachicola.
Three short plays will
be performed for the Panhandle Players' season opener of "An Evening of
One Acts," slated for November 18, 19, and 20. Rehearsals for the
November production will begin October 1.
The one-act directors
David Adlerstein, Steve Allen, and Sue Berganozzi, will audition all candidates
both evenings and will be looking for up to 20 actors total. One play has only
two characters, while the others have from four to 14 characters.
Some characters have
several lines, while others have only one or two lines. So this is a great
opportunity for both seasoned actors, and those first-time actors who have been
wanting to try their hand at performing in live theatre. There are many
parts to play, so anyone who ever wished they might "tread the
boards" someday - now is your chance.
Those auditioning will
be asked to sight read from a script, or recite or read a poem or prose they
may know, or tell something about themselves. Directors will be looking for
people who can project their voices so that everyone can hear, who can be
expressive with voice, hands, body, and face, who can follow directions, and
who can be creative and have fun with the theatrical experience.
You can do it! Give it
a try August 28 and 29, 5:00 - 9:00 pm, Chapman Auditorium.
