Governor Scott Awards Twenty-Six First Responders with the Medal of Heroism
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – During today’s meeting of the Florida Cabinet, Governor Rick Scott recognized twenty-six Florida first responders with the Medal of Heroism. These individuals were recognized for their bravery and quick action by providing assistance following the collision of a bus and semi-truck in Wakulla County on July 2, 2016.
Governor Scott said, “I am honored to recognize twenty-six Florida first responders who assisted victims following the fatal bus accident this summer in Wakulla. These individuals answered the call for help and did not hesitate to put their own lives at risk in order to help those in need. While we are saddened by the loss of life caused by this tragic crash, these first responders undoubtedly saved many individuals. These brave men and women proudly represent the State of Florida and I am proud to present them with the Medal of Heroism today.”
