The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for its first Citizens Academy beginning on October 4th.

The program will highlight all units of the Sheriff’s office, giving citizens an in-depth understanding
of what the agency is doing for the community.

Each week will focus on a different aspect of the sheriff's office, including personnel, equipment, policies and procedures.

The class will be held on Thursdays at the Sheriff's Office Multipurpose Bldg. From 5:30-8pm, including dinner.

It is a 5-week, 1 day a week class and you must be able to attend all dates.

Registration is open to the public - call Christy Thompson for more information at 323-2178.

You can also send a private message on Facebook for an application, or come by the sheriff's office on Highway 65 to fill out an application.
