Franklin County Commissioners have agreed to send a letter of thanks to PanCare health for providing COVID-19 testing locally

Franklin County Commissioners have agreed to send a letter of thanks to PanCare health for providing COVID-19 testing locally.

The group began offering the tests from a location in Eastpoint on April the 15th.

Commissioners pointed out that PanCare is not required to provide the service but agreed to do it at the request of the county.

And starting May the 4th, PanCare Health will begin offering rapid antibody testing.

The tests will be available by appointment only at all of their COVID-19 testing sites in including Bristol, Port St. Joe and Eastpoint.

There are no requirements to receive the rapid antibody testing, and there are no fees for the test.

If you have insurance, they will bill your insurance, but there will be no out of pocket expense.

The rapid testing will tell if someone has ever been exposed to coronavirus and now has the antibodies.

If a person tests positive, the test will be followed up with a nasal swab to confirm this as a true positive.

The test will also show if someone has never been exposed and does not have any antibodies.

To be scheduled for testing, just call the COVID-19 response line at (850) 215-4181.

You can call Monday through Friday from 9 am-4 pm.

That number again is (850) 215-4181.
