Franklin County commissioners have
agreed to make a few changes to the Alligator Point bike path
project.
The project will extend the bike path
about 2.8 miles from the boat ramp to East Harbor Circle at a cost of
about 1.6 million dollars.
There were some concerns raised by
residents about the exact location of the path and commissioners
agreed this month to allow some modifications to the proposed design
and location of the path.
The engineering firm Dewberry will do
the design changes at a cost of about 16 thousand dollars and the
Florida Department of Transportation has agreed to postpone the
review deadline until May 22nd to allow them time to do
the work.
The cost for the changes will come from
the county's road paving fund; the cost for the bike path will be
paid by the state.
