Franklin County is still lagging behind most of the rest of Florida in filling out the census and time is running out

Franklin County is still lagging behind most of the rest of Florida in filling out the census and time is running out.

There are just over 20 days left to return your census form.

As of Wednesday, less than 26 percent of households in Franklin County had completed their census form.

The eastern end of the county has the lowest return rate.

So far only 15 percent of homes from East Carrabelle to Alligator Point have filled out their census forms.

34 percent of homes from Eastpoint to West Carrabelle have filled out theirs

41 percent of homes in Apalachicola north of Hwy 98 have filled out their census forms while 26 percent of homes from Apalachicola south of Highway 98 and St. George Island have returned their census forms.

It is vitally important that everyone fill out their census forms, its estimated that each one is worth about 14 thousand dollars for Franklin County.

That is money that will go to roads and bridges, schools, rural health programs, emergency response programs and other services that Franklin County desperately needs.

Filling out the census is quick and easy; you can do it on-line at www.my2020census.gov.

If you don't have internet you can do it by phone by calling 1-844-330-2020.

And if you have already finished your census, remind your friends and neighbors to do the same.

And remember, if you fill out your census form during May you have a chance to win a 25 dollar gift card.

Just e-mail a screen shot of your confirmation number or completed questionnaire to Fccensus2020@franklincountyflorida.com.
