Franklin County has completed a project of placing Consolidated Beach Access signs at public beach access points around the county.
The project was funded by the Franklin County Tourist Development Council as a way to clean up the beach access points and to make it easier for beachgoers to find the information they need.
Before the beach access points had a number of smaller signs advising the public of the rules on local beaches covering everything from how to properly dispose of fishing lines to what you can do with your pet.
The new signs are 2 feet by 4 feet and consolidate all of the information on the smaller signs onto one big sign with room left over to add more information as it becomes needed.
