Tourism in Franklin County was down a little in February, for the first time in a very long time.
Tourist Development Council director John Solomon said the February visitor tax collections were nearly 85 thousand dollars.
That's about a 10 thousand less than last February a decrease of about 11 percent.
Solomon pointed out that February collections were still 19 thousand dollars more than in February, 2019.
He does not expect we will see any more drops in collections in the next few months at least.
Franklin County has seen a record number of visitors in most months since last June.
January collections were nearly 116 thousand dollars which was an increase of over 112 percent from January 2020.
