Franklin County is starting its annual budget process and commissioners are anticipating a very uncertain budget year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The board agreed to send budget letters to all county departments and constitutional offices this month telling them to prepare and submit their proposed budgets for the next fiscal year and to make sure there are no budget increases.
Budget proposals have to submitted to the county by June the 15th.
This could be an interesting budget year.
On March 6th, Franklin county authorized a contract with Evergreen Solutions to perform a wage and pay plan classification study for all county employees.
That study is due by June 30th.
Changes in compensation and phased implementation of the plan will be considered by the Board during the budget process.
