Friends of the Wakulla Library September Update

Our Mission: …To stimulate public support, understanding and use of the Wakulla County Public Library and to adequately serve the children of this county by purchasing books, videos and funding all children's programs. Congratulations to Haydee who won the gas card!!!  This month’s drawing is for a car wash at Goo Goo.  You still have time as the drawing is the 30th of September.  Tickets are always $5 for 6 or $1 each.  $100 must be realized for the drawing. We are asking that everyone renew their dues.  You can always get an application from the library or online.  The Friends rely on Membership Dues to fulfill their commitment toward all  purchases for the children’s programs, supplies, materials, etc.   Avery Hurst and the local Troup 5 Scouts did a GREAT job on the pergola.  Please stop by and enjoy the cooler weather and a comfortable seat and enjoy reading a chapter in your book! Next month is our elections for new officers.  If you are a current member and would like to hold an office, please express this to the library and they will forward the information to me.  Our meeting is on Thursday, October 28th.  There will be a potluck dinner and lots of smiling faces.  Please bring your favorite dish to share and join us at the library conference room at 6 pm.  You don’t have to hold an office to be helpful….you could volunteer!!! There will be a Halloween story walk in the park on Saturday the 30th of October.  Lots of fun and goodies to go around and maybe your favorite book character.   The Friends will be highlighting Dr. Suess this year.  See you there! Our condolences to the families that have lost or are suffering from Covid.  Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
