The Camp Gordon Johnston World War II Museum in Carrabelle has extended their special exhibit on Operation Torch: the Campaign in North Africa through Saturday, September 3rd.

Operation Torch, held in November of 1942, was the first large-scale operation by the US. Although the Normandy Invasion is considered to be the iconic amphibious operation, these tactics had been put to use earlier in North Africa during Operation Torch. Camp Gordon Johnston Museum is located at 1873 Hwy 98 West in Carrabelle. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am – 5 pm. There is no charge for admission.  Funded in part by the Franklin County Tourist Development Council.
