An Evening at Hogwarts

Thank you to all of those who attending an Evening at Hogwarts last Friday night at the library. A magical time was had by all! Visitors to Hogwarts got to deliver Confidential Memos to the Ministry of Magic, craft their own owl to take home, meet Professor Umbridge, take a stroll through the Restricted Section with a chance of getting caught out of bed by Mr. Filtch and Mrs. Norris, journey through Greenhouse 3, meet Hagrid, identify curative spells in the Hospital Wing, meet Albus Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall, take a crash course in Muggle Studies, and meet Luna Lovegood at the end of their journey. Over 200 people attended and took part in finding the Knight Bus and completing a Horcrux Hunt. Thank you to all of our staff and volunteers who made this event so very special!
We have room for about nine more community organizations to come and share information about all of the great things that they do at "Take Your Child to the Library Day: Pirate Edition!" It may be a library open house, but we wouldn't be able to do all the things we do without our community partners. Help us spread the word about how you and your organization are the treasure in our community! The library will provide a table (indoors) and two chairs. You can bring information to give away, promotional items, demonstrations to share and your pirate spirit (IF you feel like getting in costume and decorating your table with out theme). Interested in setting up? Just email rdrummond@mywakulla.com for a spot.
Whew! Time for a Break!

Children’s Programs are taking a break for the first two weeks of August while staff plans new and exciting programs and themes! Regularly scheduled programs will resume on Tuesday, August 16th.
