The Florida Department of Education Tuesday released more FCAT scores, including 3rd through 10th grade reading and math scores and science results for 5th, 8th and 11th graders. 75 percent of local third graders scored at or above grade level in reading, the state wide average was 72 percent. 87 percent of third graders at the consolidated school passed the reading portion of the test. 75 percent of local third graders passed the math section, just below the statewide average of 76 percent. At the ABC school, the passing rate was 77 percent. Only 58 percent of local 4th graders passed the reading section of the FCAT – the statewide average was 70 percent. 63 percent of 4th graders at the Consolidated school passed the reading section. 58 percent of local fourth graders also passed the math section, statewide it was 71 percent – for the ABC school it was 70 percent.
