Franklin County Commission meets today in Apalachicola

The Franklin County Commission will hold an afternoon meeting today. The board will meet at 5 o’clock instead of 9 this morning, something they plan to do once every three months so that working people can more easily attend meetings. The commission has a very short agenda for tonight’s meeting, they will meet St. George Island Fire Chief Jay Abbott and likely schedule a date to hold a public hearing on proposed increases to the county’s MSBU assessment. They also plan to once again discuss purchasing property at the Apalachicola airport – an issued they’ve already denied three times. If you plan to attend this afternoon’s meeting it will be held at the Franklin County courthouse annex in Apalachicola.

You can see the full agenda here.
