The South Gulf County volunteer firefighters are raising money for the new Sacred Heart hospital near Port St. Joe, and they are doing it the hard way. The firefighters have just released their 2010 "Smokin' Hot Firefighters" calendar which they hope will raise about $10,000 which they have pledged to help buy furniture for the new Hospital. Don‘t expect to see much in terms of uniforms, though there is plenty of firefighter skin – though any controversial parts are covered by firefighting equipment. The "Smokin' Hot Firefighters" Calendar is on sale now for 20 dollars each. You can buy it on-line from the South Gulf County volunteer firefighter’s webpage using a credit card or pay pal account. We’ve linked their site to oysterradio.com. The calendar will also be on sale at various locations around the area. The Sacred Heart Hospital in Port St. Joe is scheduled to open in March 2010. It will provide 19 private inpatient rooms, a 24-hour emergency department, one surgical suite, as well as a full complement of diagnostic and laboratory services.
