Road work to stop over Fourth of July weekend

People planning to drive over the Fourth of July weekend shouldn’t have road work to slow them down. To ease traffic congestion and insure safety along the roadways in northwest Florida, the Florida Department of Transportation has directed construction contractors working on state roads to cease operations on Friday, July 3rd. That means there will be no work on state roads requiring lane restrictions during the 4th of July holiday weekend. Work will resume on Monday following the holiday weekend.
