DEP to hold ammunition collection event on Saturday

If you have old or just unwanted ammunition sitting around the house and don’t know how to dispose of it – you may want to make a trip to Tallahassee with it this weekend. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Southern Waste Information Exchange are partnering with Kevin’s Guns and Sporting Goods for an Ammunitions Collection Event on Saturday. From 9 till 4, the store at 3350 Capital Circle will accept old and unwanted ammunition along with black powder, smokeless powder, roadside flares, boating flares and fireworks. This is the fourth year of the ammunition collection - During the last three years, more than 4,000 pounds of old and/or unwanted ammunition have been collected.
