Nine companies vie to build Carrabelle urgent care clinic

There are quite a few companies that want to help the county build an urgent care clinic in Carrabelle. County commissioners this week received qualifications from 9 construction firms who are interested in designing and building the clinic. The companies include one from Carrabelle, 7 from the Tallahassee area, and one from Birmingham, Alabama. Commissioners will choose a firm at their next meeting after the qualifications have been considered by the project’s architect. The urgent care clinic project is being funded through revenue raised through a one cent sales tax that took effect last year. So far the tax has raised close to a million dollars to pay for the new clinic.
