Franklin County will soon have a third radio station. Oyster Radio Incorporated has been awarded a license to open a third frequency in Eastpoint – it will be located on your radio dial at 104.5 FM. The transmitter will be at the tower on Begonia Street in Eastpoint. The station will be 6000 watts so not quite as powerful as Oyster Radio but it should easily cover Franklin County. The new station should begin broadcasting early next year – but we aren’t yet sure what the format will be. Anyone who would like to make a recommendation as to the type of music they would like to hear should contact oyster radio or e-mail us at manager@oysterradio.com. And if you would like to look at a copy of the application or any other documents related to the new radio station – they are available for public perusal at the Oyster Radio studios at the Point Mall at 35 Island Drive in Eastpoint.
