Good weather brought moderate crowds to Saturday’s oyster spat festival on St. George Island. 110 people took part in the 5 k run this year – this year’s winner in the men’s division was Vince Molosky who finished the race in 17 minutes and 48 seconds. Winner in the women’s division was Hayley Todd who finished in 22 minutes and 24 seconds. There was also a good turnout for the fishing tournament, this years winners include Hannah Gord who reeled in the biggest flounder, Bob Holzel brought in the biggest trout and Jordan Joiner of Columbus, Georgia towed in the biggest whiting. The winner of this year’s oyster shucking contest was Billy Hoffmire of Eastpoint and the winner of the raffle for a new golf cart was Greg Weimer of Tallahassee.
