Portions of the Apalachicola Bay reopened to Oyster harvesting at sunrise this morning. The conditionally approved winter west 2 area 1622, and the winter east area 1642 of the bay reopened to oyster harvesting this morning. Those areas were closed earlier this week because of high water levels in the Apalachicola River. The Winter West 1 area of the bay remains closed today. Department of Agriculture officials took water samples from the site Thursday - they expect sample results to be returned sometime today.
