Franklin County EOC calls for voluntary evacuation for areas along Apalachicola River

Evacuation Notice

Franklin County Board of County Commissioners’ at this time is issuing a VOLUNTARY EVACUATION NOTICE for: Residents living along the Apalachicola River and campsites starting at the Brickyard Road and continuing South along Hwy 65.


This is a precautionary notice, and is NOT mandatory. However, the evacuation is strongly advised.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...ALL PERSONS WITH INTEREST ALONG THE RIVER SHOULD MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS...AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO NOT DRIVE CARS THROUGH FLOODED AREAS. IF YOU SEE FLOOD WATERS...REMEMBER TO TURN AROUND AND DO NOT DROWN.
