Local hunters asked to watch out for Forestry workers

Hunters in the Tate’s Hell State Forest are being asked to be very careful this season because there will be a lot of forestry workers in the woods.

The Tate’s Hell State Forest Office of the Florida Division of Forestry is currently conducting a 100% inventory of Tate’s Hell State Forest. The inventory will provide information that they can use for short and long-range resource management planning. There will be up to 15 forestry workers cruising timber throughout the forest.

The workers will be wearing orange vests and orange hats.

Hunters are being asked take additional safety measures, such as scouting the roads surrounding a block for DOF vehicles, to ensure the safety of Forestry workers measuring trees in a tract.
