Franklin County commissioners this week approved the construction of restrooms at the Lombardi Seafood Park at 2 mile west of Apalachicola. The county will pay about 17,500 dollars to build a stand alone restroom. The board had hoped they could just add the bathrooms to an existing building at the site but that is not allowed under the grant the county is using to pay for the work. Poloronis Construction will begin work on the restrooms this week. The company has also recently installed a handicapped ramp at the site and put a new roof on the existing building which will one day be a maritime museum.
