The new Sacred Heart Hospital is now open. The new 25-bed hospital opened to patients on Monday.
Construction on the new hospital began just over a year ago – the 38 million dollar facility now provides 25 beds for inpatient care as well as a 24-hour emergency department, surgical services, and diagnostic and laboratory services. There is also a helipad to be used by Sacred Heart's regional air ambulance service to provide rapid transport for trauma or critically ill patients.
Sacred Heart has hired Sandra Todd-Atkinson, as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer at the new Hospital. Miss Todd-Atkinson served most recently as the Senior Vice President of Nash Health Care Systems in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
