Mimi Drew named secretary of DEP


Governor Charlie Crist and the Florida Cabinet have approved Mimi Drew as Secretary of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
Drew has served as Interim Secretary since September 10th following the resignation of Mike Sole.
Previously, she served as the agency’s deputy secretary of regulatory programs and as director of the division of water resource management.
The Department of Environmental Protection is the lead agency in state government for environmental management and plays a lead role in state government, protecting our air, water, and land.
The Department has also played a major role in representing Florida in the ongoing water battle between Florida, Alabama and Georgia.
