The Florida Department of Transportation has agreed to change the speed limit on Highway 98 in Eastpoint so that its 35 miles an hour all the way through.
Currently the speed limit alternates between 35 and 45 miles an hour which commissioners feel is a little too fast through town especially through the Highway 98 Island Drive intersection.
New speed limit signs should start going up this week making the speed limit an even 35 miles an hour from the east end of the Apalachicola Bridge to the eastern end of Eastpoint.
