Liberty Belle coming to Apalachicola on Sunday

A World War Two vintage airplane will be visiting the Franklin County airport this month.
The "Liberty Belle", which is a WW2 Boeing B-17G "Flying Fortress" will visit the Franklin County/Apalachicola Regional Airport on Sunday November 14th.
Liberty Belle's visit to Apalachicola is a historic event as Apalachicola Airport was built in 1941/1942 as an Army Air Gunnery School for the B-17.
This Liberty Belle visit is being sponsored by the Natural Medicine Shoppe of Apalachicola in memory of Cleve Randolph.
The airplane will be available to the public for tours, rides and lectures.
The Camp Gordon Johnson Museum will also have displays set up at the airport and there will be a book signing with Kenneth Tucker who was a B-17 tail gunner and has written a book "Last Roll Call" with his daughter Wanda Gooden.
The airport is looking for any memorabilia, artifacts, or pictures people may have of the Apalachicola Gunnery School or the War War 2 era to put on display.
You may also contact Al Mirabella or Ted Mosteller with questions or to volunteer.
