The Franklin County hospital advisory board has a new chairperson.
Gayle Dodds, who has served as chairperson for the past 4 years announced that she was leaving the position and will replaced by local accountant Chuck Marxson.
Mrs. Dodds told the county commission that she will remain on the board for now but will no longer serve as chairperson.
The 9 member hospital advisory board has been very busy in recent years with local health care issues ranging from the construction of a new urgent care clinic in Carrabelle to operations at Weems Memorial Hospital.
The board is also now working on plans to build a new hospital in Apalachicola.
