Franklin County opens proposals this week from companies interested in providing disaster response training and exercises through the Franklin County emergency Management office.
The training is funded through a Homeland Security grant.
Three companies bid on the project, the Disaster Strategies and Ideas group and the Expert Managers group, both out of Tallahassee and O’Brien’s Response Management out of Fort Lauderdale.
The Expert Managers group provided training at the local EOC this year.
A committee including Emergency Management Director Pam Brownell, Emergency Management Director Mike Rundell and county planner Alan Pierce were named to read the proposals and make a recommendation at the next county commission meeting.
