Jessie Muecke joined the chamber last month with her new permanent make up business Face Perfection. Located in Eastpoint at 338 US Highway 98 in Scissors Palace, Face Perfection offers permanent cosmetics for eyes, eye brows, lips, lip liner and birth marks. Welcome Tiffany Tiffin with her business Tiffin Consignments (Southern Furniture Liquidators) located at 117 US Highway 98 in Eastpoint.  Tiffin Consignments sells consigned furniture and accessories at 50-75% off retail.  She has a huge facility that sells all types of furniture, rugs, pictures and artwork, appliances, and house hold items and even some antiques.  You never know what you will find. John V. Hutchinson joined the chamber with his business Big Bay Charters, a bay fishing and sightseeing charter business. John is a licensed USCG captain and he offers full or half day charters that include everything you’ll need for a successful fishing trip or a day of sightseeing. 12 Gage & The Deep Blues Band, LLC
Gage Blevins joined the chamber with his band, 12 Gage & The Deep Blues Band.  Influenced early on by Eric Clapton, Gage loves the blues.  He and his band are available for all types of gigs, parties and special events. They are flexible and can perform at all sorts of venues. Gage grew up in Apalachicola and Eastpoint and attended school at First Baptist.  He currently lives in Port St Joe. Affordable Fishing
Captain Doug Joyner joined the chamber with his business Affordable Fishing.  Doug offers customized adventures that include oystering, cast netting, crabbing, and fishing for drum, trout, flounder, croaker, sail cat and small shark on light tackle.  He also conducts river trips and trips to the barrier island for shelling. Doug is a licensed USCG captain and has a 20 foot Proline center console and a brand new 23 foot wooden Apalachicola Bay oyster skiff.  He does full and half day trips.  Doug has been fishing and roistering most of his life. Congratulations to Dixie Partington.  She purchased Petunia in January.  Petunia is a specialty boutique for pets and their people. Job Search Workshop with Professional Q&A Panel
Gulf Coast Community College (Panama City Campus) will host a Job Search workshop on Wednesday, March 2, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. cst at their Student Union West, Room 302.
Workshop is free and open to the community; Reservations are required due to limited seating
Learn about resume writing and online job search tools, networking/netiquette skills and dressing for success.  There will be a professional Q&A panel discussion (participants ask specific job search questions and get advice from seasoned professionals with hiring experience ~ panelists are Alumni Advisory Council Members and community leaders).  Call Loel Davenport

March 5 Pawdi Gras A delightful new event for pups and their people. Designed to benefit the Franklin County Animal Shelter and a new dog park in Apalachicola, there will be a Pawrade at 4:00, a Tailent contest at 3:00 and Yappy Hour at 5:00…lots of licks and fun! Come Pawdi at the DIXIE with your Best Friend!

March 5  St George Island Regional Chili Cook off will take place Thursday, March 3th – Saturday, March 5th.  The weekend begins a golf tournament at 8:00 AM Thursday at St. James Golf Course.  Then on Friday, the Auction Art Preview is in the evening from 5 - 7 at the island's firehouse (324 E. Pine Ave.).  Saturday includes the 5K Red Pepper Run (8:00 AM), Crock Pot Judging (10-11:00), the Auction beginning at 11:00, booth showmanship judging (11:30 - 12:15), Miss Chili Pepper and Miss Hot Sauce judging (starting at 12:15), taste awards (3:30).  Held  in the center of the island.  There is a $5 entry fee.  Proceeds benefit the St. George Island Volunteer Fire Department and First Responders (850) 653-6735 www.sgiChiliCookOff.com.
March 10-12 Camp Gordon Johnston Association and the CGJ WWII Museum invites everyone to come to Carrabelle on March 10th -12th for the 16th annual CGJ Days reunion. Thursday there will be a golf tournament at St James Bay followed by a dinner and silent auction.   Friday is registration and boat trips to Dog Island.  The parade is on Saturday and will feature vintage Military vehicles, active duty troops and community organizations. City of Carrabelle will provide a free “fish Fry” afterwards at the Fire Station. At 2:30 pm there will be a beach landing at Carrabelle Beach by the US Army. March 19 Eastpoint Volunteer Fire Department Charity Rib Cook Off
The 10th annual Eastpoint Volunteer Fire Department Charity Rib Cook Off will take place on Saturday, March 19th, at the fire house in Eastpoint on the corner of CC Land Road and 6th Street.  Contestants will be cooking up all kinds of BBQ including pork, chicken, beef, plus there will be other goodies like apple dumplings and fresh pork rinds.  Prizes will be awarded for rib cook-off and car show contestants. The ever popular Liar’s Contest is always a treat. For more information call George Pruett at (850) 670-9000.

March 26, 2011 Apalachicola ArtWalk
Fine art in all forms will be woven in and around picturesque downtown Apalachicola where artists will be showing, selling and demonstrating their talents from 11:00-6:00 pm.  Festivities continue into the afternoon with a progressive wine tasting and hors d’ oeuvre from 3:00-5:00 pm.  Later in the evening local chefs will prepare special dishes at their restaurants highlighting our fresh local ingredients.  The Sarah Mac will perform at the Dixie Theatre at 8:00 pm. March 26  St Vincent Annual Open House Enjoy a free full day of nature-related activities. Transport to/from the island will be provided hourly. Guided tours and exhibits will allow people to learn about the island’s protected wildlife, diverse ecosystems, and history as well as enjoy the unspoiled beauty of this unique pristine uninhabited refuge. These services including educational talks/discussions will be provided by numerous volunteers from the Supporters and various community organizations. The 15th Annual Forgotten Coast Chef Sampler was a fabulous success.  We’d like to thank all of the talented chefs, and their staff, who participated.  They really out did themselves this year:
