Contact info if you find oiled fish in the Gulf of Mexico

Fishermen are still finding signs of oil in the Gulf of Mexico, and are looking for ways to report it.

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council says has been getting requests from fishermen on how to report any oiled fish or fishing gear.

The group has provided a number of contacts for fishermen who discover signs of oil.

To report oiled fish or fishing gear at the federal level, you can call 1-800-info-fda.

To report oiled fish or fishing gear at the state level or to get general oil spill information you should visit the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council website at www.gulfcouncil.org.
