Franklin County's population remains low


There are now 18.8 million people in the state of Florida and 11,549 of them live in Franklin County.
The U.S.Census Bureau released its 2010 population figures for
Florida and overall Florida's population grew by 17 and a half percent from 2000 to 2010.
In Franklin County the population increased by 492 people or 4 and a half percent.
11057 residents were counted during the 2000 census.
The census also counted 8652 homes in Franklin County – 4254 of the mare occupied.
Carrabelle is Franklin County most populous city with 2778 residents; Apalachicola has 2231.
2337 people in the Eastpoint area which includes St. George Island.
